TripiTrail™

GST invoicing

GST invoices that follow the rules, without the spreadsheet.

Numbers that never skip or repeat, tax worked out from where your customer is, and every detail the invoice rules ask for, printed on your own letterhead.

GST invoicing

Invoice numbers your accountant will not question.

Which business

Each GST registration you bill under gets its own two letters and its own series. Your main business uses INV.

Tap each part.

  • 16 characters at most, as the GST invoice rules require.
  • No gaps, no repeats. Numbers are given out one at a time.
  • CGST and SGST, or IGST, worked out from where your customer is.
  • Credit notes and receipts get their own series, so nothing gets mixed up.
  • Issued invoices cannot be edited. Mistakes are corrected with a credit note, as the law expects.

CGST and SGST, or IGST

The right tax for where your customer is.

When your customer is in your state, the tax is split into CGST and SGST. When they are in another state, it is IGST. TripiTrail decides from the place of supply on the invoice, and you can see why before you issue.

Example only, at 5%. Your rate depends on what you sell; ask your CA.

Customer in your state

Taxable value₹10,000.00
CGST 2.5%₹250.00
SGST 2.5%₹250.00
Total₹10,500.00

Customer in another state

Taxable value₹10,000.00
IGST 5%₹500.00
Total₹10,500.00

On every invoice

Everything the invoice rules ask for.

Fill in your business details once in Settings. Each invoice then carries them, and keeps them exactly as they were on the day it was issued.

  • Your business name, address, GSTIN and state code
  • A consecutive invoice number and the invoice date
  • The customer's name, address and GSTIN when they have one
  • Place of supply, by state name and code
  • HSN or SAC code on every line
  • Taxable value, rate and tax, split into CGST and SGST, or IGST
  • The total in figures and in words
  • Your bank details and declaration, and space for the authorised signatory

After the invoice

Refunds, payments and statements, kept in order.

Credit notes

A refund or correction after issuing creates a credit note against the invoice, with its own series (CN/2627/0001). The invoice itself never changes.

Receipts

Every payment, full or part, gets a numbered receipt (RCT/2627/0001) you can email or download.

Customer statements

Everything a customer was invoiced and has paid, with the balance, ready to download when they ask what they owe.

Several GST registrations

Bill under each registration with its own two letters, name, bank and numbers (SV/2627/0001). Each invoice shows which business it came from.

Not yet: e-invoicing

Businesses with more than ₹5 crore in yearly turnover must also register invoices on the government's e-invoice portal. TripiTrail does not do this yet. If that applies to you, tell us when you book a demo.
